Rockland’s First Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church offering a traditional worship service with hymns and traditional music and an emphasis on strong biblical teaching.

 

History

The First Baptist Church of Rockland is abounding with rich history dating back to its inception in 1854.  With 22 charter members Rev. Horace T. Love became the first pastor of what was then known as the First Baptist Church of East Abington, MA.  The church building was constructed in 1856 on land donated by Deacon George W. Chipman of Boston.  In the mid-1870s the town of East Abington became known as Rockland, MA.

Joytime Singspiration

Paul and Cindy Talley, aka the Traveling Talleys will be the special guests at the Joytime Singspiration this Saturday, July 2nd at 7:00 PM.

Paul Talley grew up performing with his family in 83 countries as well as all 50 states. He began recordThe Talleysing with Word Records at the age of 11. For many years Paul ran from the Lord and played in a variety of Rock and Roll and Country bands, receiving Warner Brothers contract offers. After coming to know the Lord personally, he pastored for 16 years and now he and Cindy travel full time in musical evangelism. Paul plays the trumpet, accordion, keyboard, ukulele, guitar and sings, leading worship and ministering in the Word. Cindy accompanies on the bass guitar.

The Talley’s will be ministering in concert at the First Baptist Church, 200 Union Street, Rockland, MA. The Joytime Singspiration is held the first Saturday evening of every month. There is never an admission fee, however, a free will love offering will be received.
